Cut Out & Keep

Journal Entry: Thu May 29, 2008, 3:01 AM
I've been Lord McUltrabusy lately. For anyone who has any interest in poetry and lives in/near London, and who I haven't contacted already, the Fuselit: Fox launch is on 14th June, two weeks this coming Saturday, from 7-11pm in the Betsey Trotwood in Clerkenwell. Performers include myself, ~discocabrado and `PoeticWar, and there'll be music from the band Foxes, as well as What Are Birds (ie. Kirsty, myself and friends). We'll be selling copies of the new issue of Fuselit there as well.

Oh, and What Are Birds are also doing a gig this coming Wednesday at the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town. First band on: 8.45pm, entry: £4 with flyer/£5 without, flyer: [link]

OF FURTHER NOTE

The Fuselit site now boasts a relaunched blog, Cut Out & Keep. We're keeping it updating with wonderful things, such as:

* A free, downloadable Make Your Own Fuselit: Straddle set.
* Reviews, some by guest reviewers.
* Poet top trumps.
* Notable calls for submissions.

There will also be, forthcoming, the inside scoop on making Fuselit, a preview of Fox, and, fingers crossed, an occasional audio show...

NaPoWriMo Days 25-30

Journal Entry: Fri May 2, 2008, 4:07 AM
Last installment of my NaPoWriMo adventure!

Day 25 - My Life as an 80s Cartoon - [link]
Day 26 - from his notebook: Girma - [link]
Days 27-30 - The Cities of Gold Interviews - [link]

What's Next?

I'm compiling an article for the roundtable review on people's NaPo experiences. What do you get out of it? Do you think it prompts you to produce pieces you'd otherwise never get round to? Does it make you feel good about being productive, or negative about the quality of the work that comes out, or a combination of both?

I'm also going to be judging Aditi's Mini Chapbook contest and making the two winners into e-chapbooks, to be published in rtr half way through the month.

What? You think I'm slacking? OK. I'm also trying to compile a much more comprehensive and useful links page for Fuselit's site, building up the content for Bandijcat's site (especially with regards to the lucky dip) and organising the Fuselit: Fox London launch event that's set for June.

Plus, as usual: finishing my first collection, sending off the odd submission, earning money, that sort of thing.

NaPoWriMo Days 8-13

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 15, 2008, 3:25 AM
I've become a little tangled up in NaPo. Some days I wrote two, intending one to not count, and then other days I never got round to it, or didn't get very far, and excused myself on the grounds that I'd written two on other days. So I'm not entirely sure what poems correspond to what day anymore. I'll just go with the order I've been writing them in:

Day 8: (was the extra one I posted in the previous journal entry)
Day 9: from his notebook: Masresha - [link]
Day 10: Fanfiction - America's Next Top Model - [link]
Day 11: On hearing the lead guitar from ‘One Stage Before’ fizzing out of someone’s ipod in a crowded tube carriage - [link]
Day 12: You are Action Man - [link]
Day 13: Song of the Courageous Reprobate - [link]

In other news, the new Fuselit site is mostly up (I am awaiting artwork). How does it look to people? Is the menu OK? Some of my friends have suggested it isn't very apparent as a menu and visitors won't know how to navigate.
